How to Vote
East Gwillimbury voters can choose one way to cast their ballot: online, at an advance vote, or in person on Election Day. Here's when and where.
Vote Online
October 16 to 26
- Opens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16
- Closes at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26
- Use the Voting PIN in your Voter Information Letter, mailed in early October
Advance Voting
October 17, 20 and 22
Vote in person using a paper ballot at any advance voting location.
- Saturday, October 17
- 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 20
- 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Thursday, October 22
- 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Election Day
Monday, October 26
- Voting hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Vote in person at the voting location in the ward where you live
Where to Vote in Person
On Election Day, vote at the location for the ward where you live. During advance voting, you can vote at any advance voting location. Look up your ward
Before You Go
Watch for your Voter Information Letter. It arrives by mail in early October with everything you need to vote, including your Voting PIN.
Bring ID to vote in person. At advance voting and on Election Day, bring one or more pieces of identification showing your name and East Gwillimbury address. Your Voter Information Letter can't be used as ID. See acceptable ID
One person, one vote. Choose one way to vote. If you vote online, you can't also vote in person, and vice versa.
Can I Vote?
You can vote in East Gwillimbury's 2026 municipal election if you are:
- A Canadian citizen
- 18 years of age or older
- A resident of East Gwillimbury, or a non-resident who is (or whose spouse is) an owner or tenant of land in East Gwillimbury
- Not prohibited from voting by law
