Meet Brian

An entrepreneur, community leader, and father who has spent his career putting East Gwillimbury first.

Brian Johns

History of Community Service

An experienced entrepreneur, Brian was a managing partner in a local, independent grocery chain for 15 years and led a national non-profit charity bringing clean water to communities in need around the world. Across both roles, he learned what it means to serve a community every single day.

As Ward 2 Councillor, Brian brought this experience to Council, championing responsible growth management, community infrastructure, and transparent governance — work that shaped his comprehensive vision for East Gwillimbury's future.

Now running for Mayor, Brian is committed to building on that experience with a detailed, action-ready platform — from ensuring value for taxpayer dollars, to advocating for a local high school and hospital, to revitalizing our village cores and protecting farmland. Every priority is fiscally responsible and informed by his experience on Council and engagement with residents, allowing Brian to hit the ground running on day one.

Rooted in East Gwillimbury

Brian was born and raised in East Gwillimbury and attended Mount Albert Public School while growing up outside of Holt. Brian and his wife, Mariangela, and their two young children, Vittoria and Luca, call Sharon their home.

In his spare time, Brian loves going for runs and walks with his family through the neighbouring trail systems and into the conservation areas.
